“Perpetuation of a High Moral and Cultural Standard”
Brief History
The BACHELORS CLUB was founded in 1902. Very few African-American organizations have survived for such an extended period of time. We are proud of our LONGEVITY.
In 1914, many of the members had changed their marital status from BACHELOR to BENEDICT. The word BENEDICT, which means a married man, was added and the CLUB became known as the BACHELOR BENEDICT CLUB.
The First history of the BACHELOR BENEDICT CLUB of Indianapolis was researched and printed in 1974 by J. Wallace Hall. Mr. Hall served as secretary of the CLUB for three decades. He was the glue that held the CLUB together through the years.
Special thanks to Kroger!
For years now, Kroger has been partnering with the Bachelor Benedict Club of Indianapolis to support needing families during the Winter Holidays. Given how unprecedented the year was, Kroger stepped up in a big way and more than doubled their contribution. They are a true pillar in the community and we appreciate their consistent efforts. THANK YOU!
